The Abu Dhabi Family Business Council and First Abu Dhabi Bank have signed an agreement to support the growth of family businesses in Abu Dhabi through tailored financing, partnerships, and joint initiatives.
In Abu Dhabi, efforts to support family-run firms are gaining pace as the Abu Dhabi Family Business Council (ADFBC) and First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) have signed a new agreement to help these businesses grow and thrive over the long term. The deal was formalised by H.E. Masood Al Masood, Vice Chairman of the Council, and Martin Tricaud, FAB’s Group Head of Wholesale Banking, marking a closer working relationship between the two sides.
At its core, the agreement sets out a shared plan to give family businesses better access to modern banking and finance options. FAB will offer tailored services based on each company’s needs, while also staying in line with its usual credit checks and internal rules. The partnership will also help the bank connect with firms it does not yet work with, in line with the Council’s wider goals.
Beyond financing, the two organisations plan to run events, workshops, and joint initiatives aimed at bringing business owners together and opening up new opportunities for collaboration. The idea is to create a stronger support network where family businesses can learn, connect, and expand.
Speaking about the move, H.E. Khaled Abdul Karim Al Fahim, Chairman of the Council, said the partnership reflects a clear commitment to helping family businesses remain strong and sustainable, especially through ties with leading financial institutions like FAB. Martin Tricaud echoed this, saying the bank is keen to provide fresh and practical financial solutions that will help these firms play an even bigger role in the local economy.
The agreement also ties in with the wider vision of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which aims to boost the role of family businesses by offering the financial and advisory support they need to succeed. In doing so, it hopes to support steady and sustainable economic growth across Abu Dhabi and the wider UAE.
