The chief of the Bahrain Economic Development Board paid a visit to Hong Kong to showcase the Middle Eastern kingdom’s attractiveness to investors and family offices.
The Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) visited Hong Kong this week as part of a strategic initiative to attract Chinese capital to the kingdom, including engagement with investors, family offices, and key decision-makers.
According to an announcement, H.E. Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, minister of sustainable development, chief executive of the Bahrain EDB, attended a family office forum and participated in a panel, highlighting Bahrain’s competitiveness and opportunities for GCC-Asia collaboration.
Bahrain is also making efforts to enhance its regulatory environment, having introduced licences for stablecoin issuance and updated digital asset rules that allow family offices to tokenize assets.
Major Middle Eastern hubs are striving to attract more international capital as they seek to further diversify their economies. In the fourth quarter of 2025, Bahrain saw its total inward foreign direct investment (FDI) rise 1.8% year-on-year to bring total FDI stock to BHD17.7 billion (USD47 billion), according to an economic report by its government.
