Zurich-based Julius Baer has hired a former Bank of Singapore executive as its new market head for Southeast Asia.

Julius Baer has appointed Nira Tanoko as market head South East Asia, according to an announcement, effective November 2. In the role, she will lead the bank’s regional business, driving strategic growth while strengthening the client franchise and talent base. She will also oversee teams serving high and ultra-high net worth clients across key Southeast Asian markets, and collaborate closely with product and investment specialists to deliver solutions to clients.

Based in Singapore, she will report to Jimmy Lee, member of the global wealth management committee and region head Asia and join the Asia management committee.

Tanoko has more than 25 years of banking experience, including over 20 years in wealth management. She was most recently working at Bank of Singapore, where she held the position of market head, Indonesia.

“South East Asia remains a strategically important market with significant long-term growth potential. Nira’s deep understanding of the region, strong leadership capabilities and commitment to delivering exceptional client service make her well positioned to lead our South East Asia business into its next phase of growth,” Lee remarked.
