Lioner International Group has launched its first office outside of Asia in Switzerland and appointed a high net worth insurance veteran as its head.
Lioner International Group, a Chinese integrated insurance, trust, and family office consortium, has opened a new office in Zurich, Switzerland, according to a statement. Giorgio Jeni, who has 27 years of insurance experience within the high net worth (HNW) segment at UBS, HSBC, Julius Baer, and Credit Suisse, has been named as partner and head of Switzerland.
The firm has also appointed Yaru Gao as a senior consultant and Maurice Ho as a consultant, who are both based in Switzerland and report to Jeni. Gao has 16 years of experience advising entrepreneurs and corporates in Europe and Asia, having previously held senior roles at China Construction Bank in Zurich, Hong Kong, and mainland China. Ho has 20 years of experience across Greater China and international markets, specializing in HNW insurance.
Global expansion
This marks Lioner’s first move to expand outside of Asia, where it already has offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Beijing. In November 2025, the wealth consortium announced its relocation in Singapore to a bigger office in One Raffles Place due to an enlarged business that saw revenue in the city-state triple in the first half of last year.
“Switzerland is an ideal hub for our integrated platform – its clients are global, their needs increasingly complex, and expectations are rising for solutions that combine technical depth with cultural fluency,” said Jeni. “We see tremendous opportunity to support Swiss private banks, family offices, and wealth managers in serving internationally mobile clients, especially those from Asia.”
“Switzerland is a natural next step in our global journey. Its reputation as a trusted and sophisticated financial centre aligns with our mission to deliver total solutions in protection, legacy, and succession planning,” Lioner founder Tony Chan added.
