Citi has reinforced its private banking and investment advisory capabilities with the appointment of three seasoned professionals in Vancouver, Toronto, and New York, each bringing extensive international experience to the firm’s high-net-worth client base.

Mary Thio joins Vancouver office from Hong Kong

Wai Sum (Mary) Thio has relocated to Vancouver from Citi Private Bank in Hong Kong, where she spent over two decades advising ultra-high-net-worth individuals and their family offices. Her expertise spans both public and private market investments, alongside strategic support for wealth planning and financing—ranging from property transactions to business acquisitions.

Mary began her career as a Citi Management Trainee in Treasury Marketing, serving institutional and corporate clients in Hong Kong. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English.

Toronto welcomes Abhishek Bhadauria as Investment Counsellor

In Toronto, Abhishek Bhadauria has been appointed Investment Counsellor, joining from TD Wealth Private Investment Advice. His previous role saw him advising affluent families, charitable organisations, and private enterprises on portfolio design and long-term financial planning.

Abhishek holds an MBA and is a CFA charterholder, underscoring his strong credentials in investment management and strategic advisory.

Christine Fong to serve Canadian clients from New York

Christine Fong will be based in New York, where she will focus on serving Canadian clients. She brings seven years of experience from J.P. Morgan, most recently as an Investment Specialist. Her background includes advising on asset allocation across equities, fixed income, and alternative investments.

Christine earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Baruch College and also holds the CFA designation.

Strategic growth in cross-border advisory

These appointments signal Citi’s ongoing commitment to delivering bespoke, cross-border financial strategies for sophisticated clients. By deepening its bench of experienced advisors across key North American markets, the firm continues to strengthen its global wealth management offering.
