Deutsche Bank has strengthened its leadership team by appointing Stefan Hoops and Marie-Jeanne Deverdun to its management board, while also naming Fabrizio Campelli as president from July.
Deutsche Bank has announced a significant shake-up in its leadership team, appointing Marie-Jeanne Deverdun and Stefan Hoops to its management board. The move, revealed in a statement on Thursday, highlights the bank’s focus on strengthening both its technology and asset management divisions as part of its long-term growth strategy.
Stefan Hoops, who currently serves as chief executive of Deutsche Bank’s asset management arm DWS, will join the board in recognition of the growing importance of asset management to the bank’s future plans. His appointment comes after a successful three-year turnaround at DWS, where he managed to restore investor confidence following a damaging greenwashing scandal. Under his leadership, DWS shares have risen by around 80 per cent, a performance that has helped cement his reputation as a steady hand in challenging times.
Marie-Jeanne Deverdun, meanwhile, has been named Chief Technology, Data and Innovation Officer. She has been with Deutsche Bank for 16 years, most recently working as Chief Operating Officer for both the corporate bank and the investment bank. Her new role places her at the centre of the bank’s efforts to modernise its systems and harness innovation to drive efficiency and competitiveness.
In addition to these appointments, the supervisory board has confirmed that Fabrizio Campelli will take over as president from 1 July, succeeding James von Moltke, whose tenure will come to an end. This change marks another step in Deutsche Bank’s ongoing transformation, as it seeks to balance stability with fresh leadership to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving financial landscape
