Mumbai-based 360 ONE WAM has hired the former India country head from investment bank Jefferies as its chief executive officer.

360 ONE has appointed Aashish Agarwal as CEO of 360 ONE WAM Group, according to an announcement. Current managing director and CEO Karan Bhagat will become vice chairman while retaining the former role and continue driving group strategy, capital allocation and key client and institutional relationships.

Agarwal is a veteran investment banker, joining from Jefferies, where he was managing director and India country head from April 2020. Prior to that, he also worked at CLSA and Merrill Lynch.

Three verticals

360 ONE’s business is based on three verticals – wealth management, asset management, and capital markets – which is designed to serve families and institutional clients under a single platform.

“Over the last 18 years, we have built 360 ONE into a trusted partner for India’s wealth creators. This structure lets each of our three businesses be led with sharper focus while we operate as one Group. Aashish brings exceptional financial services depth and an owner’s mindset to building businesses, and along with the founders, will drive the Group’s next phase of growth,” commented Bhagat.

360 ONE currently manages more than USD 82 billion in total assets, serving more than 8,900 families, corporates, and institutions. Last year, it acquired UBS’s India onshore wealth management business in a deal that saw the Swiss bank obtain warrants for a 4.95% stake in 360 ONE.
