London-headquartered HSBC Private Bank has hired two former Citi executives to lead its global family office and United States businesses.
HSBC Private Bank has appointed Hannes Hofmann as global head of family offices and Cayman Wills as head of the US Private Bank, according to an announcement.
Hofmann will deepen the bank’s coverage of family office clients, joining with 25 years of private banking experience across New York, Hong Kong, and London. He was most recently working at Citi as global head of family office group. Prior to that, he worked at J.P. Morgan for two decades.
Wills has over 20 years of private banking experience, most recently as Citi Private Bank’s head of US Northeast and Midwest. Previously, she also worked at J.P. Morgan for 18 years in various leadership roles.
Both will report to HSBC Private Bank CEO Ida Liu, who was also a former Citi executive for 18 years, last serving as its global head of private banking.
