HSBC has announced a new global head of trust and fiduciary services, a unit that will become part of the British firm’s private banking arm.
HSBC has appointed Dimitri Anghelakis as global head of trust and fiduciary services (TFS), according to an announcement, effective August 17. He succeeds Brent York who will retire after more than 30 years with the British lender and will remain with the business as an adviser until mid-2027 to support a smooth transition.
TFS, which supports clients with specialist services for wealth preservation, succession, and legacy planning, will become part of HSBC Private Bank. Anghelakis, who will relocate from Hong Kong to London for the new role, will report to HSBC Private Bank CEO Ida Liu.
Anghelakis has deep experience across wealth, insurance, and business development. He joined HSBC in 2017 as group head of business development for HSBC Life and Insurance Partnerships before later serving as chief of staff for wealth and personal banking as well as head of group chairman’s office.
“I’d like to thank Brent for his significant contribution to TFS, its clients and colleagues,” Liu remarked. “He leaves a business with deep expertise in supporting families across generations and I’m delighted Dimitri will lead it through its next chapter.”
