J.P. Morgan’s private banking unit in UAE has hired a new executive who previously worked at Citi for nearly two decades.
Mo Anabtawi has joined J.P. Morgan Private Bank in the UAE, according to people familiar with the matter. The business is spearheaded by ex-Citi banker Selim Elgen, who was appointed as managing director and market head for UAE in November 2025.
Anabtawi also previously worked at Citi for nearly 20 years, most recently as its private banking head for UAE. In addition to the private bank, he also served in the corporate and investment bank for seven years.
When contacted, a spokesperson for the bank confirmed the new appointment.
