Zurich-based Julius Baer has hired the ex-chief operating officer of Standard Chartered’s private banking unit in Singapore.
Julius Baer has appointed Pamela Tseng as chief operating officer (COO) Asia, according to a statement, effective 16 November 2026. Based in Singapore, he will report to Jean Nabaa, COO and executive board member, and Jimmy Lee, region head Asia and global wealth management committee member.
Tseng has extensive leadership experience in operational management, most recently at Standard Chartered where she was global COO for the private banking division. Previously, she also held senior leadership roles at Citi in New York and Hong Kong, and Accenture in Singapore and Beijing.
Current Asia COO Andreas Zingg will retire after 23 years with Julius Baer and will work closely with Tseng to ensure a smooth transition.
“I am delighted to welcome Pamela Tseng to the Bank. Her proven track record in overseeing complex, large-scale operations, driving strategic transformation, and cultivating high-performing teams will be a tremendous asset to the Group. Given her deep understanding of Asian markets, I am confident she will further strengthen our capabilities across the region,” commented Nabaa.
Asia is often coined as Julius Baer’s second home market after Switzerland and the bank celebrates its 20th anniversary in Singapore and Hong Kong this year.
