Canadian insurer Sun Life has rolled out an integrated platform designed to support high net worth individuals’ multi-jurisdictional wealth needs.

Sun Life has launched Sun Life Private Wealth – an integrated platform to support high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals, families, and advisers across its hubs in Bermuda, Dubai, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

Under the unified offering, the platform will provide a more global client experience by eliminating duplicate case creation across the hubs, standardising supplementary forms, and utilising AI-powered document extraction in underwriting.

“As the needs of wealthy clients become increasingly international and interconnected, we recognised the need to evolve the way we serve them,” said Sun Life Private Wealth CEO Sujoy Ghosh in a statement.

“Over the past 18 months, we have brought our capabilities closer together through a single intake and underwriting platform, harmonised processes and forms, and round-the-clock support. The result is a more connected global business that delivers a more seamless experience for distribution partners and their clients, with the complexity of navigating markets resting with us, not them.”

Hong Kong performance

With rapidly growing wealth and a historic intergenerational transfer, demand for insurance has been on the rise. According to data from Munich Re, the life insurance protection market doubled in the past seven years to USD34 billion in 2025 across Bermuda, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

Sun Life has been a major beneficiary of this growth, especially in Hong Kong where it saw premiums and the number of policies increase by tenfold and fivefold, respectively, within its high net worth (HNW) business in 2025, compared to 2022, the insurer said during a media luncheon.

“The launch of Sun Life Private Wealth marks the evolution of our HNW business, bringing together decades of expertise into one integrated platform,” Ghosh added.

“As wealth becomes more global and family needs more complex, clients and advisers need a trusted partner that can support them across the wealth life cycle. Sun Life Private Wealth combines our financial strength, specialist expertise and deep local knowledge to help clients build, preserve and transfer wealth across generations.”
