Geneva-based UBP has established a strategic alliance with Taishin Bank to enhance the Taiwanese lender’s domestic and onshore wealth management capabilities.
Union Bancaire Privée (UBP) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Taishin International Bank to form a strategic alliance, according to a statement.
Under the partnership, UBP will become Taishin Bank’s exclusive global strategic partner for private banking to support their market insights, investment expertise, product capabilities and wealth management know-how.
This includes the enhancement of Taishin’s wealth management platform for domestic and offshore clients through the joint development of new investment solutions and global investment expertise. The Swiss bank will also share knowledge through joint training programmes on client servicing, operations and market insights, and provide its global investment insights to enhance advisory and asset allocation capabilities.
“This partnership creates meaningful value for Taishin Bank’s clients through our combined strengths and marks an important step as UBP continues to expand its presence in Asia,” commented Michael Blake, head of wealth management and CEO Asia at UBP. “Our partnership is grounded in shared values, dedication to clients and an entrepreneurial spirit to innovate. We look forward to working closely with Taishin Bank to support high-net-worth individuals and families in Taiwan.”
“We are bringing in UBP’s international macro vision and diversified product solutions for our clients, as well as its Swiss family governance and wealth management experience,” added Sam Lin, CEO of private banking and strategic wealth clients group, Taishin Bank.
“We believe the partnership will enhance our team’s professional capabilities in asset allocation and family succession advisory, enable us to tailor international solutions for our high-net-worth clients in Taiwan, and empower us to expand our private banking service network across Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong.”
